The Heritage Collective

A stunning collection of beautifully restored buildings located on our Marine Parade grounds in Cottesloe.

Our past

Formally known as Wearne Hostel, the group of buildings located in a large open landscape, are comprised of the original Ministering Children’s League Convalescent Home completed in 1897 in the Federation Queen Anne style; the 1901 additions in a matching style; and the 1909 Meath wing.

Various conversion works to the buildings were undertaken in 1984 and again in 2004.  These additions to the heritage buildings were demolished in January 2021 when work began on the final stage of Waterfront Cottesloe’s independent living apartments.  The heritage buildings and surrounding gardens were also completely restored during this stage of work.

Our future

Enriched by its rich local history, the Heritage Collective provides lively venues for arts and culture programming, artist workshops, and community education sessions.

Available for hire, our thoughtfully curated spaces boast refined furnishings and elegant designs, that are sure to delight your guests.

We invite you to join our vibrant community and stay informed about upcoming events and initiatives.
