Curtin Heritage Community Hub

Curtin Heritage Community Hub

Our Curtin Heritage Community Hub on Forrest Street is where the Curtin Heritage community and friends gather for connection, conversation, and company. As a trusted provider of community care in Perth’s western suburbs, our program is designed to support a broad range of interests, abilities, and care needs, helping clients remain connected, active and engaged within their local area.

Activities

Social Club Groups

Our Social Club groups are the cornerstone of the Community Hub program, running as permanent weekly bookings on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10.30am to 2.30pm, with transport available where required. Each session blends tabletop games, music, craft, armchair travel, quizzes and our much-loved “move n’ groove” dance fitness, all designed to encourage social interaction, support cognitive stimulation, and build motor skills in a warm, welcoming environment. These groups are particularly well suited to clients living with dementia or experiencing mobility challenges, offering a familiar routine, consistent peer group and gentle pacing within a supportive setting. Costs vary depending on funding type (CHSP, SaH or FFS) and include all in-centre activities and meals.

Exercise Classes

For those keen to keep moving, our Wednesday and Thursday morning exercise classes are led by a qualified physiotherapist and exercise physiologist, with sessions tailored to suit all abilities. Wednesday classes run from 9.30am to 10.15am and Thursday from 9.45am to 10.30am, with transport options available depending on funding arrangements.

Classes are $20 per session, or $15 when subsidised through CHSP support.

Monthly Luncheons

Once a month, the Cottesloe Community Hub transforms for a themed luncheon, complete with a two-course meal, a celebratory beverage and an hour of musical entertainment. Bookings open on a casual basis up to two months in advance, with limited availability, so early enquiry is recommended.

Bus Outings

Our Tuesday bus tours take clients further afield, exploring Perth and its surrounds through a changing roster of outings, from scenic drives to theatre screenings and long lunches. These full-day programs can require a higher level of mobility and independence, so please speak with our team about suitability. Outings are booked casually, up to a month in advance, with limited spots. Please note tour and meal costs are charged separately from the outing fee, either paid directly or on-charged where applicable.

Art Group

Held fortnightly at the Cottesloe Community Hub from 12.00pm to 2.00pm, our Art Group welcomes beginners and seasoned creatives to explore a variety of mediums in good company.

Cooking Classes

Our monthly cooking classes bring community together around the kitchen bench (and the table afterwards) to prepare and share a meal, swap recipes, and rediscover the simple pleasure of cooking for company.

Walking Club

A relaxed, social stroll through the local area, our Walking Club is all about fresh air, gentle exercise, and companionship at a pace that suits the group.

Games Group

From cards to board games and everything in between, our Games Group is a firm favourite for those who enjoy a friendly bit of competition alongside their cup of tea.

Men’s Coffee Group

A casual catch-up over coffee designed especially for the gentlemen of our community, offering an easy-going space for conversation, connection, and the occasional debate.
