Residential Care Services

Services That Start with You

Good care starts with knowing who someone is, not just what they need. Curtin Heritage’s person-centred approach shapes services around each individual’s experiences, needs and preferences – from 24-hour nursing care to outings in our luxury bus. It’s care that gets to know you, in a community that starts to feel like home.

Home, in Every Sense

Curtin Heritage is a place our residents can truly call home. Everyday experiences are still shared with family, and active, rewarding lifestyles continue. A helping hand is always there when it’s needed. That, to us, is what wellbeing is all about. It’s a home that feels warm and familiar, where staff know residents not just by name, but by story. And it’s backed by a team with the knowledge, skills and attitude to provide genuinely responsive care, whatever the day brings.

Life in Our Care

More Than an Activities Program

We believe a great lifestyle means staying active in mind and body which is why we see lifestyle as far more than a program of activities. It is how you live each and every moment of every day, and our approach begins with knowing what matters to each resident.

The calendar is a busy one: regular outings in our own luxury bus, rides along the beach in our chauffeured golf buggy or trishaw bicycles, arts and music, exercise and wellness sessions, pet therapy, Coffee Club, high teas, happy hours and special events, and plenty of opportunities to learn new skills or reinvigorate old ones.

They’re complemented by a rotating cast of visiting entertainers and a generous community of volunteers, who spend time with individual residents and lend their support to groups including the sewing club and bridge circle. Students from local secondary schools are regular visitors too.

Food Made with Love

Our chefs do far more than prepare meals. Together they bring years of restaurant and kitchen experience to the task of delivering the flavours of home with all meals cooked onsite using predominantly fresh ingredients, and menus designed to make the best use of fresh produce for both nutrition and great taste.

Menu reviews are a genuinely collaborative affair: chefs come together to exchange ideas, refresh skills and introduce taste innovations, many of which originate with residents and their families. And while home-cooked favourites and traditional menus are always honoured, our chefs relish the challenge of creating dishes that connect residents to their own cultures and to each other’s.

Care Around the Clock

We provide care using a person-centred approach that involves the whole team and keeps the focus squarely on the resident. We treat residents as individuals, consider quality of life from their perspective, and work in partnership with families to understand each person well – delivering individualised care, with services and activities centred on their needs, interests and choices. Our team members are appropriately qualified and experienced in aged care, with nurses and carers available 24 hours a day to provide the very best in nursing and personal care.

Residents are welcome to continue with their own local doctor, or we can recommend one of our regular visiting doctors. We work closely with GPs, nurse practitioners and medical specialists to safeguard residents’ ongoing health, and our established relationships with pain, palliative care and dementia teams mean specialised care is delivered within the home. Onsite therapists, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists, help residents stay as mobile and independent as possible.

Clinical Support

Residents are provided the choice of maintaining their own local doctor or alternatively, may opt to engage the services of one of our regular visiting doctors who offer bulk billing services and have full access to our care system. We value ourselves in working in a collaborative approach between various health care professionals and our residents and their representatives. Our aim is to provide with you with the best care possible and in the most convenient way possible.

For families searching for aged care facilities near me in Perth’s western suburbs, it is this depth of clinical support, delivered in a place that feels like home, that sets Curtin Heritage apart.
